MALVERN mountain bike racer Liam Killeen added another impressive victory to his list last weekend when he took first place in the Roc d'Azure in the South of France which attracts 11,000 racers for the final event of the French National Series.

Killeen, aged 18, was on the front of the grid for his 400 competitor cross country race due to his European Champion standing and soon opened up a gap with the hordes chasing behind him.

Liam said: "I went into a good lead but a puncture after 30 minutes sent me back to 16th position and it was not until the final 15 minutes of the race did I get back in front."

Liam finished the event in first place in 1hr 47m with the second placed rider some 1m35s behind.

With the season ending Liam will be taking part in cyclo cross races throughout the winter.
