THE finals of the Hayley Jeynes Charity Cup, in aid of Malvern Cancer Support Group, was held at Willie Thorne's Snooker Club.

One hundred and seventy mixed couples took part in a knock-out which started in January 2000 and finished at the end of May with eight pairs taking part in the final which was won by Pauline Walker and Tony Hunaban, runners-up were Nicola Crocker and Dave Jeynes.

It was a great pleasure to have Mrs Glen Green, who is Chairman of the Worcester District Community Health Council, to present the trophies to all the winners.

The main draw, which took place on the same night, winners as follows:

1 the weekend away for two - Mr & Mrs Gibbons of Malvern, 2 £25 voucher donated by Brookhire - Keith Price of Worcester, 3 Sunday lunch for two donated by New Inn Storridge - Karen Miles of Malvern, 4 a night at Strikes Ten Pin Bowling - Mrs R Portman of Malvern, 5 a case of three bottles of wine - Sue Hill of Malvern, 6 a case of beer - P Jackson of Malvern.

Many thanks go to Malcolm Fish and friends for the donation from the Crib Knock-out, which was run from the Express Inn, also New Inn Storridge for the donation from their harvest Festival and Quest Satellite Dishes for their donation.

A big thank you to all couples who took part and donated raffle prizes. Special thanks to Sharon Smythe also Alan Mason and the staff at Willie Thornes. Also Willies Angels ladies skittles team for all the hard work they do.

A cheque for £3,365.74 was given to Malvern Cancer Support Group by Mrs J Newman, a member of Malvern Cancer.
