AN entertaining match at Worcester YMCA ground saw Radar fight back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 only to concede a late goal leaving the spoils shared in this Worcester Sunday Division Two fixture.

HEREFORDSHIRE HOUSE 3, MALVERN RADAR 3

The home side were quickly into their stride and front men Wayne Kloos and Ian Townsend were linking well and it was the latter who gave them the lead on nine minutes, finishing well after the ball skidded under the unfortunate Simon Barnett's foot on the edge of the box. It was soon 2-0 when the same player broke clear and although his shot was partly blocked by keeper Chris Ball the ball went in off the post.

This seemed to wake Radar up and they started passing the ball a lot better using the very big pitch to their advantage and they pulled a goal back when Barnett cut inside and set up Carl Monk who strode into the box and clipped the ball over the advancing Craig Gourley, 2-1 at half time.

Radar had plenty of second half possession and nearly equalised when an excellent curling shot from Steve Harness crashed against the cross bar and was scrambled clear. The home side still looked dangerous and Ball was quick off the mark to come out of the area to thwart efforts with two good block tackles. He then plucked a harmless cross from the air and banged the ball up field which Trev Bagnall latched onto and he promptly lobbed the ball in for the equaliser.

Radar took the lead with 12 minutes left when Guy Lock held the ball well and support arrived in the form of John Rooney and his 20 yard shot flew low into the net off the post.

Things got a little heated at times and Radar were unfortunate to have a player dismissed and then when a free kick was cleared to the edge of the box, sub John Fowles gleefully lashed the ball home to level the scores with just a few moments left.

This Sunday The Old Bush are Radar's visitors, players to meet 9l.45anm at Victoria Park.

The Saturday side lost 4-0 at home to Bishampton with torrential rain and strong winds making things rather difficult. The highlight was a goal from the Bishampton keeper whose almighty kick flew into the net.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Radar are away to Crown & Anchor. Team to meet at the New Inn at 1.15pm as kick-offs are now 2.15pm.
