MALVERN'S Church Street youth caf, MJs, has been temporarily closed while the lease is being re-negotiated.
Both young people and staff are meeting at Malvern Youth Centre but it is hoped they will be able to move back into their underground premises after Christmas.
The cellars, which were derelict when MJs took over, belong to Oxfam.
Community safety officer Jenny Lawrence, who was instrumental in getting MJs established, said the decision had been taken to move out before the lease expired rather than risk a sudden closure.
"We made contingency plans to ensure the longevity of the project, because I didn't want to just close the doors," she said.
"I am confident that MJs will continue when we have re-negotiated the terms and conditions of the lease."
