MEMBERS of the Bromyard and District Choral Society were among 1,200 singers performing Mozart's Requiem at Birmingham's Symphony Hall.

The singers were under the baton of Simon Halsey, chorus director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus, who took a morning masterclass with the CBSO.

In the afternoon, the Bromyard singers were ready to perform, turned out in their new choir sweatshirts, showing a golden hop on a music stave, designed by local artist and member Katie Bishop.

Last Thursday, the choir gave a joint concert with the Cantare Vocal Ensemble from Gouda in the Netherlands at St Peter's Church.

It was a chance for friendships to be made ahead of a BDCS visit to Gouda in April.

The next performance will be at St Michael and All Angels' Church, Ledbury, on Saturday, December 9, when they sing carols from around the World. There will be a repeat performance the following Saturday at St Peter's in Bromyard.
