SUCCESS was even sweeter the second time around for Evesham.com when it was named the best computer retailer.

The company, formerly Evesham Micros, which turns over £85m and employs more than 500 workers was declared winner at the Personal Computers Association annual conference for the second year running.

"By winning this title for a second time, Evesham.com has shown its commitment to customer service remains as strong as ever," said Steve Payne, of sponsors Nova Retail Finance.

To win, the company was assessed on its quality of customer service, staff training and development, growth, profitability and e-commerce strategy.

PC retailers were put through their paces using written questionnaires, anonymous telephone shoppers and praise from customers on the service they provided.

"There is no doubt that quality will always come to the fore," said Keith Warburton, director of the Personal Computer Association.

"Evesham.com has set the standard other PC retailers should be aiming to emulate."
