THE prospect of the Evesham club completing a Summer League double was boosted with several substantial scores in the final leg of the County of Worc-ester competition.

Shooting the short metric round of six dozen arrows at an 80cm face from 50 and 30 metres the club entered a team aggregate of 8394.

World Indoor compound bow bronze medallist, Simon Tarplee, bolstered the total with a high-class 696 from a possible 720.

This was adjusted to 675 to compete with the Olympic bows.

In the same category, Malcolm Porter produced an excellent 648, while Peter Williams notched up a fine 630. Laurence Gregory made 625.

Jacquie Williams was the leading handicap adjusted section scorer. The compound bow archer, who has achieved the classification of junior bowman, registered 1466.

Gregory accumulated 1458, while Williams and Tarplee amassed 1457 and 1435 respectively.

Lesley Howells compiled 1397 and Chris Howells 1388.

The Club hosts the annual open FITA 18m tournament at Evesham Sports and Leisure Centre on Sunday, November 12.

The event, which attracts some of the country's outstanding archers, starts at 9.30am.
