Malvern 2, Evesham Ladies 3

THIS proved to be Evesham's toughest league match yet.

A 12-strong team made their way to the Malverns in good spirits despite the gale-force winds, driving rain and a waterlogged pitch.

Matters got worse when the hosts scored in the first minute but Evesham soon drew level with a goal from Helen Morris after a penalty corner.

Shortly into the second half it seemed that the home side had been affected by the weather, and most of the play took place on their 25-yard line.

Within ten minutes Evesham had pulled ahead with a skilful goal by Vanessa Dufty.

The visitors looked strong and they were gaining in confidence. It wasn't long before a third goal was scored by Amy Miller.

With another burst of energy Malvern scored, but it was not enough.

Player of the match was Emily Cook who set up two of the goals.
