ULTIMATE PLUM PUDDING: Chipping Norton School Association have come up with a novel idea of raising funds for the school. They have produced the Ultimate Plum Pudding, which has been endorsed by the BBC Good Food Magazine and by Chef Magazine as being as good as the best home-made puddings. The cost of a 1lb pudding is £4.48 and a 2lb pudding is £7.99, which if sales go as well as expected the school will pull out more than the usual sixpence!

NORTH OXON AMATEUR VIDEO CLUB: The North Oxon Amateur Video Club had a very eventful month's programme for October. On October 4 several members attended the 'Video Show' at Weston-Super-Mare where they gleaned some very useful up-to-date information with regards to the recent developments that are affecting our interests during the immediate future. On October 14 the Mayor and Chipping Norton Society revived an 'Organisations Day' in the town hall where all the local clubs and organisations were invited to attend to publicise their own set-ups to the local community. North Oxon Amateur Video Club availed themselves to talk to many interested visitors on their stand where they were showing their own promotional video of sequences filmed by many of their members and produced in order to show visitors what can be achieved with 'home videos'. A notable visitor was Mr Andy Andrews who talked to some of our members about when he was part of 'John Logie Baird's team during the pre war (and pre fire days) at the Crystal Palace at Sydenham (London) during the development of TV'. Going on to tell us how he remembered getting their equipment to safety when that great fire broke out. On October 17 we received a visit from two gentlemen from 'Datavision' who performed two very interesting demonstrations showing methods of editing from your camcorder onto PC and then transferring the 'edited' version back onto the camcorder in 'digital' form. With so many members now possessing or considering digital camcorders this form of editing looks most appealing and can actually be obtained without a very large financial outlay, and even less if you already possess a PC. Finally this month, members have been invited to attend a meeting at the Oxford Club to view their millennium project. November meeting will be held at Chipping Norton School on Tuesday, November 21 when the subject under discussion will be 'Lighting', natural and artificial. Visitors are most welcome, more details about the club from Dennis Weeden 01993 830 786.
