BLOCKLEY: Ten sheep killed on the line. A railway accident of a serious nature happened on Saturday when a flock of 44 sheep got onto the GWR line. The 10am passenger train from Worcester to London dashed into them killing 10 and wounding four.

BOURTON-ON-THE-HILL: Property Sale - There was a fair attendance at the Redesdale Arms Hotel, Moreton on Tuesday, when Mr Arthur Goddard offered for sale by auction a freehold cottage and premises situated at the lower end of Bourton-on-the-Hill until recently in the occupation of Mr Daniel Hopkins. The property was stated to have formerly consisted of two cottages recently thrown into one, and to have a large and productive garden. Bidding commenced at £60 and at £150 the property was knocked down to Harry Payne of Blockley.

Cotswold: The Stow branch of the County Library Service, which was opened last April, is proving a great success. Although the branch is only just reaching the peak reading season, its membership has already reached 280. As a result of this reading boom, two extra allocations of 100 books have now been made to the library, making a total number of 1,000 books for readers to choose from.

Cotswold: Two much building is going on at Bourton-on-the-Water, the Cotswold planning committee was told yesterday and this is upsetting the balance of the community.
