A THEATRE performance in Bewdley is making a long-awaited return when it opens tonight after an eight-year break.

The 11th Stagestruck show, featuring Scouts and Guides from the town, will include 26 acts as part of the millennium show.

The fun will include performances of Rocky and the Mash Busters, the Very New Generation Game, Three Wheels on my Wagon, Roald Dahl's Three Little Pigs and Bewdley Scout and Guide Band's finale of the Last Night at the Proms.

Altogether a giant cast of 277 will present the entertainment at Bewdley High School tonight, tomorrow and Saturday.

Another treat for the audience will be a large video screen which will be put in place so the public can be taken back in time and see classic clips of previous Stagestruck performances.

The show's co-producer Peter Johnson said: "Once again we have discovered original and enthusiastic talent among the young performers.

"Some of their parents appeared on stage in previous shows, but for many it will be the first time they are treading the boards.

"It is great Stagestruck has been able to return for this performance in the year 2000."
