WE are always being warned to keep our pets indoors on firework night, but what happens when fireworks are being let off four weeks before November 5, as happened near us on October 7.
We were treated to an impromptu firework display with no warning whatsoever.
The noise was deafening and my animals were terrified.
If I had known this was about to happen I would not have let them out into the garden.
I have a rescued cat who is very nervous. He disappeared and did not come back until the early hours. He has lost a lot of his confidence and now jumps at the slightest noise.
These fireworks went on for quite some time, each being louder than the last and ending in a crescendo of mini explosions.
As we live in the next road to the cul-de-sac involved, and our back garden almost adjoins the garden with the firework display, it wouldn't have taken much to let us know what was about to happen.
I feel that this is just another sad reflection of our time - a total lack of consideration for others.
