NIGHT raiders broke into three vehicles parked in the British Telecom secure compound in Mill Street, Kidderminster.

They got in by cutting open a padlock at 3am, prosecutor Sue Cliff told magistrates.

Paul Leach, 19, of Goldthorn Road, Foley Park, Kidderminster, admitted interfering with the vehicles, intending to steal, illegal possession of a craft knife and stealing clothing from his brother.

He also admitted six offences in July and August of driving without insurance, licence or test certificate.

Leach had spent a week in custody but his family were willing to have him back, his solicitor, Ruth Edwards, told the court.

All his offences were committed after alcohol and drugs abuse.

He was bailed with a 15-hour curfew for a pre-sentence report.
