KIDDERMINSTER Chess Club are having one of the best starts to a season that the Wolverhampton League First Division team have had in their 100-year history.
They thrashed Wolverhampton 7-1 in round one of the Pittaway Cup.

In Division Three, Kidderminster faced a tricky fixture at Bushbury but returned with a 3-2 victory.
John Varilone was the star player as he beat P Scott 1-0, while the others all drew.
