THE October meeting was attended by 45 members and visitors.

Iris Montgomorie, VCO, gave a short introductory talk before the main speaker, Richard Wescott, took centre stage.

After introducing himself as a long-term pantomime dame, speaking of the well-known names he has acted with, this well dressed gentleman started to transform himself into a dame.

Everyone watched as he made up his face. Although it is a job women do daily, he provided many useful tips, from how to fill the cracks with polyfilla, to stretching your face to put on eye liner using a very steady hand!

With his wonderful sense of humour and quick wit, he then described how carefully he had driven to Cookhill, and members were soon to see why. Beneath his normal attire was pantomime bloomers and stripey socks. The transformation was soon complete and he was a beautiful Dame Trott.

With some speedy changes, ably assisted by dresser Margaret Jones, he modelled a number of wonderful outfits, all self made, plus all necessary accessories - ping-pong pants, reindeer earrings etc.

After this enjoyable entertainment, there was no shortage of voices for singing pantomime songs.

After a hot meal served by members, five members provided further entertainment in a humorous version of Cinderella.

The evening ended with a quiz in the form of an anagram taken from pantomime titles and characters.

Final arrangements were made for the skittles evening on October 28 at Bradley Green Village Hall. This will be good practice for those in the skittles team.

The next meeting is the AGM on November 8.
