IN THE absence of the president, vice-president Sylvia Palmer conducted the October meeting.
Every member was issued with a piece of paper on which to indicate whether or not she was prepared to be a member of next year's committee.
Money was taken for tickets for the group Halloween Party at Aston Cantlow.
Numbers were taken of people who wanted to go on the group visit to the Houses of Parliament on November 20.
The speaker was Barry Smith, of Ridgeway Nurseries, who showed members how to make winter hanging baskets.
He also made a Christmas basket and explained that people collecting sphagnum moss now need a licence.
The raffle was won by Betty Gedge and Joyce Builton.
Another raffle, donated by Ridgeway Nurseries, was won by Florence Manson and the competition was won by Rosa Hunter.
A delicious supper was provided by Irene Baldwin and Sylvia Little.
