A SHOCKED top Labour councillor claims moves to discuss behind closed doors a 100-page report alleging serious irregularities and practices within Bromsgrove Council House is just a "whitewash."
Bromsgrove district councillor Peter McDonald (Uffdown and Waseley) says the only name featured in most of the report is his and he has no objections to it being read out.
The matter is in the confidential items section of tonight's meeting of Bromsgrove District Council's policy and resources committee.
Cllr McDonald said: "I am shocked at the way this is being investigated and this is why I handed the document over to police on Friday. This is a whitewash"
Council chief executive David Bryant said the document may contain something libellous which the council did not wish to discussed in public.
