Handrahan Timbers 2 Alvechurch 2 (aet) (Alvechurch won 5-4 on penalties).

A penalty shoot-out win was justified with Alvechurch allowing the hosts to nose in front in normal time before levelling in the final throes of extra time.

Neither side played pretty football as the conditions deteriorated.

Alvechurch had the early pressure with a Paul Court header and a Christian Townsend free kick going close in the opening minutes.

Playing against the wind, Handrahan were restricted to occasional sorties including a Huw Lewis cross which looped in the wind onto the Alvechurch bar, Hodgetts was unable to capitalise on the resulting loose ball.

Church coped better in the second half with a Townsend free kick looping towards goal, finding Paul Court at the far post, but his goal-bound effort held up in the mud and was cleared.

Court turned provider for Nick Lamorte, whose effort was smothered by keeper Adam King as Alvechurch continued to make the running.

Handrahan took a 75th minute lead when a wind-assisted deep cross hit the Alvechurch bar, and Hodgetts pounced.

Alvechurch subs Stocks and Vann came on and it was Stocks who claimed the equaliser on 83 minutes.

Robert Powell advanced into a dangerous position and powered in a shot that was too hot for King to handle.

Stocks was first to react to the keeper's parry to bury the ball from ten yards.

Extra time brought further reward for an Alvechurch side increasing in stature as the game wore on.

A sweeping move involving Dean Meyrick and Stocks put Court free, and he made no mistake with a cool finish from 12 yards.

Alvechurch inexplicably allowed Handrahan to equalise with just four minutes remaining.

The defence gave substitute Johnson time to stroke the ball into Inman's left hand corner from 15 yards as an inviting gap opened up for him.

Not to be outdone, though, a perfect quintet of spot kicks saw Alvechurch through.

Richard Stocks, Dean Meyrick, Martin Keight, Robert Powell and Christian Townsend all kept their nerve to see off the Wall Heath side whose fourth penalty sailed over Dave Inman's bar.
