KINGS Heath manager Sean Lawless is close to signing an unnamed Dr Martens League striker after losing the services of dangerman James Miah.

Miah, who has been tracked by Lye Meadow landlords Alvechurch, has ruled himself out for the rest of the season because of work and personal commitments.

Lawless hopes to unveil his mystery target in time to figure at near neighbours Studley on Saturday (ko 2.45pm).

Sweeper Scott Matthews has been sidelined for six weeks after undergoing a cartilage operation today (Wednesday).

Midfielder Dave Crumpton, out for two months with a trapped nerve, is hoping to get his first start of the season on Saturday.

Kingsmen boss Lawless is hoping in-form forward Mark Cartwright will return after a hamstring problem.

Miah signed off with the only goal as Heath saw off Continental Star 1-0 last week.

Saturday's derby date against Feckenham fell victim to the weather.
