SHE'S the squash coach of the year -- and that's official!

Barnt Green Sports Club's Lindsay Parker is the woman in question after she was named Squash Rackets Association Coach of the Year at the association's awards ceremony at the NIA, in Birmingham, last month.

Lindsay received a sparkling silver plate for her efforts, capping a fantastic season for her to date.

In April she was the first woman to achieve the Level Four SRA Elite and Club Professional award, meaning she can coach at club, county and national level. Then at the start of October she took the Worcester County Closed title for the sixth successive year.

"The Plate is the best award I've won," Lindsay said. " What makes it more satisfying is that I've only been coaching full time for two years now so to win the award in such a short space of time is fantastic."

On top of her duties at Barnt Green, Lindsay, ranked 17th in the country, is the current lead coach at David Lloyd Sports Centre, in Solihull, and is now looking to get more involved in coaching at national level.
