MALVERN Town returned from Kington last night having recorded a fine 2-1 win in the Banks's Brewery Premier League. However, they had to come from behind after the home side went ahead in the 30th minute with a free-kick.
Malvern hit back in almost identical fashion in the second half when Andy Shepherd was pulled back on the edge of the area. Steve Walker smashed the ball over the wall and into the bottom right hand corner of the net.
The visitors began to take control with Phil Slade and Shepherd proving a constant thorn in the home sides defence
and Mark Brooks and Walker working tirelessly in midfield.
Brooks,Chris Thomas and Shepherd all might have given them the lead but were all denied by the Kington goalkeeper.
However, Malvern's winner came with 20 minutes left when full back Adam Higgins ghosted in at the far post to steer the ball home after good approach play from Shepherd and Slade.
Both sides had chances to score late on but Malvern held on for a hard earned three points.
