A MAN was arrested on Saturday in a Droitwich supermarket for being drunk and disorderly - just one day after being released from jail.
On Monday, Worcester magistrates heard Brian Harper, aged 60, of Bromyard Road, Worcester, had been causing distress to shoppers as he drank from a sherry bottle in the Safeway store.
Harper, who was unrepresented in court, admitted being drunk in public. He said he had gone to the supermarket to shelter from the rain.
The court heard Harper had been jailed last Thursday after being drunk and disorderly in Worcester.
His case was adjourned for sentencing today.
