RESIDENTS at a home for the elderly in Droitwich welcomed a Royal guest last Wednesday.
Dorset House, in Blackfriars Avenue, is owned and managed by RSAS Age Care. The charity's patron, the Duchess of Gloucester, opened a new wing at the site.
She was given a tour of the wing, which has cost nearly £1m, before unveiling a commemorative plaque.
Residents presented the delighted Duchess with a Millennium book of recollections.
Manager Roger Ward said: "It was her second visit to our home and everybody was very excited.
"The Duchess was in top form and I believe she enjoyed her visit."
Dorset House was built in 1923 as a hotel and attracted guests visiting the nearby brine baths. It now has 40 elderly residents.
RSAS Age Care still needs to raise £167,000 towards the cost of the new wing.
