REDDITCH United Football Club chairman Rod Laight got the result he wanted when he teamed up with Redditch chartered surveyor John Truslove to look for commercial property.

And the deadly duo formed a formidable strikeforce when they found Unit 11, Sherwood House, Sherwood Road, Aston Fields, Bromsgrove, which is now home to Reds' boss Rod's two private businesses.

Mr Laight has taken a two-year lease at £17,650 per annum on the 3,209 sq ft premises which houses R&S Steel, which slits and shears strip metal for the spring and fastener industries, and Reddisys, which builds computers and servers, writing and providing support for software, as well as offering website consultancy.

Mr Laight said: "We had been looking around Redditch but could not find anything of this particular size. John Truslove found us this very nicely appointed, privately owned site and negotiated a two-year rent with the owners, Geoff and Pat Till, the sort of lease that start-up businesses really need but that normal landlords won't even consider."

Mr Truslove said: "I am over the moon for Rod.

''He was gutted when he couldn't find anything in Redditch, but we worked together as a team and at the end of the day got the result we all wanted which is what it's all about."
