A REDDITCH spring manufacturer has been shortlisted to stand for a prestigious regional award.
Peterson Spring UK Ltd, Hewell Road, has been chosen as a potential finalist in the annual Midlands Excellence Awards, emphasising a move by the company to improve competitiveness and efficiency.
The prize will be presented before 1,700 guests at the Birmingham ICC on Monday.
The awards are organised by Midlands Excellence, a public and private sector-funded charity, dedicated to competitive improvement and will be presented by Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew.
Entrants are all using the European Excellence Model, a management tool which enables users to look at all aspects of their organisation to help improve competitiveness and efficiency.
Also shortlisted is the West Mercia Constabulary, which includes Redditch Police.
Peterson Spring chairman and chief executive Edward Roberts said: "The model is a key driver for competitive edge not only for our company but for the region as a whole.
"Therefore not only do we recommend the model, we are actively working to ensure our suppliers follow the same road."
Mr Roberts, who co-founded Midlands Excellence four years ago, added: "It is the best business holistic improvement tool available. It is a guide for measured performance which is easily understood and works throughout the organisation."
