Alcester 0 Stourport 25

The unbeaten visitors faced a depleted Alcester forced into making five changes to the team beaten by Marconi.

Stourport went ten points up after only five minutes, both tries coming from Alcester errors.

A Stourport back row forward was gifted an easy run in after a wheeled scrum, and the visitors were given possession after a stray pass for a second.

Alcester, led by stand-in skipper, Matt Gwynn, fought back thanks to possession in the line out through lock Pat Lamb.

But none of the back line breaks looked incisive and Stourport weathered the Alcester storm and the elements to increase their lead with another try near the end of the half.

Playing up the slope in the second half, the Alcester forwards started to get into the game.

Prop Andy Foster, lock Lamb and Man of the Match, flanker Al Williams, were prominent in the forward drives, which created running opportunities for the backs.

When the ball reached wing pairing Sam Vernon and Martin Sergeant, they looked dangerous with Sergeant coming close twice.

But dropped passes and knock-ons thwarted the hosts.

Stourport added two more tries for a flattering final scoreline.
