Rocester 2 (1)

REDDITCH UNITED 3 (1)

Mickey Moore became an instant hit with the Redditch faithful after an impressive debut, which included the winning goal, in an inspired comeback by the Reds.

After an even start, Redditch struck first through Paul Molloy, who fired home his third goal of the season from a half-cleared corner after quarter of an hour.

Rocester levelled 13 minutes later when Molloy turned to villain, bringing down Andy Bourne just inside the Redditch penalty box. Mike Ede easily despatched the spot kick past Dave Adey.

Adey was called into action on 31 minutes and atoned for his nightmare performance on Tuesday with a fine finger-tipped save around the post following a deflected shot.

Redditch had a gilt-edged chance to go into the break in front when Nicky Cross delivered an inch perfect ball for Ross Knight, but the Reds' top scorer scooped the ball over the bar from two yards.

The home side took advantage of Redditch's misfortune when Paul Ede latched onto a weak back pass by Manton to give Rocester the lead for the first time, six minutes after the break.

Moore almost brought the Reds level with a rasping 20-yard drive which the home keeper turned round the post after the hour.

Redditch did equalise on 69 minutes when an error in the Rocester defence allowed Cross to nip in and fire home.

The visitors dominated the game from then on and took the lead when Moore bagged his first for the Reds tucking an easy ball away at the far post following a period of mayhem in the box.

Reds were nearly denied all three points late in the game when Rocester's Mekka Ejiofor raced clear of the defence but struck the post with his effort.
