THE July meeting held at the Parish Hall commenced with president Netta Appleton wishing everyone a very happy 36th birthday.
A collection was made of jumpers for Gambia that members had generously knitted. Henley on Thames had been the destination for a successful coach outing of members and friends in June.
Following the business meeting, 56 members enjoyed a birthday supper and entertainment provided by the committee. Barbara Davis, Mary Rollason and Sue Mayne performed a short sketch about the three divisions of the WI: national, county and local group.
The lucky winner of the Denman draw was Brenda Rudd and raffle winners were Marjorie Wilson, Sheila Grypton and Jan Munro. Dot Stanton won the competition for the best buttonhole. The committee was thanked by Jean Powell for its hard work.
