No doubt George Cowley is an intelligent fellow, but do we have to read his letters and comments every night, or nearly every night?

Why don't you give him a job, then he can have a column all of his own?

Some of his letters are interesting, but why does he have to write comments in answer to other people's letters that are only common sense to all of us?

We know he wears trainers, we know he is 62-years-old - or he could be 63 by now - but no, he would have told us about it, or did I actually miss it!

We even had his life story on Mike Pryce's page. In fact, we probably know more about George Cowley than he knows about himself.

It has become a standing joke now on the night shift at work. We all purchase an Evening News in our break, open it to the You Say page and then all cheer on the odd occasion when there is no letter from George.

As he is on such a low pension - or so he is always telling us - how does he afford all the pens and paper he must use?
