RICHARD Jarman made an immediate impression on his full debut with a double-try burst as Worcester Rugby Club dismissed Waterloo 32-19 on Saturday.

The Kiwi scrum-half, making his first start in a Worcester shirt since his move from Taranaki, revelled in the atrocious conditions as the Sixways side kept their six-point lead over Leeds Tykes intact in National League Division One after notching five points.

Jarman ended the scoring at Blundellsands with a magnificently worked try and then beamed: "You ain't seen nothing yet."

He said: "I've got to be happy with two tries and the win but we've had to work hard today.

"Three hours on the coach beforehand is probably not the best preparation and the conditions also played a part because we tired a bit at the end.

"We were definitely disappointed with letting them get three tries at the end."

Worcester led 27-0 mid-way through the second-half after tries from Andrew Lamerton, Spencer Bromley, Alistair Murdoch and one from Jarman.

However, the home side's never-say-die spirit shone through as the rain lashed down and they eventually bagged a hat-trick of tries through Matt Holt, Chris Wolfenden and Dave Telford.

Jarman was critical of his own performance despite a lively display and the two tries, insisting there was plenty more to come from him.

He said: "I'm sure in a couple of weeks you'll see the best from me because there were a few errors in my game today but a win is a win. We've got five points in the back pocket and we're going home!"

The 28-year-old was impressed by other debutant Rudi Keil who played at centre despite only arriving from South Africa five days earlier.

He said: "I felt a bit sorry for him because he was really thrown in at the deep end today but I think it was a really solid performance from him -- he's a very fit and strong lad."

And after his first start in a Gold'n'Blue shirt, Jarman was eager for more of the same.

He said: "They are a great bunch of lads to play with at Worcester and there's no doubt about it -- we're a good side. Things were not easy, but when the going gets tough the tough gets going and that's what happened today."
