KIDDERMINSTER Harriers Ladies came through the extra preliminary round of the AXA FA Cup when they beat Tamworth 3-2 on Sunday.

Julie Freeman scored for Harriers in the first minute, running onto a though-ball from Emma Bowdler, and finishing off inside the box.

Tamworth equalised after a defensive error, but Freeman struck again in the 25th minute with a shot into the roof of the net and Bowdler extended the Harriers lead after the break.

Tamworth reduced the arrears and came close to scoring a third but Harriers' goalkeeper Emma Jones made a superb save.

In the next round Harriers will be at home to Lincoln City or North Satffordshire on Sunday, September 24. Kick-off will be at 1.30pm at Wilden Village Cricket Club.
