STOURPORT Swifts bounced back to winning form in the Midland Football Alliance when they pipped Willenhall 3-2 at the Walshes on Tuesday night.

The town side had turned in a disappointing performance when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Chasetown on Saturday, but Mark Dearlove snapped up their midweek winner to bring them their fourth league victory of the campaign.

Lee Booth put Swifts in front midway through the first half against Willenhall, latching onto Lee Shaw's cross to score with a low drive into the bottom corner.

The visitors equalised eight minutes later when Simon Prince netted with a free-kick over the Stourport wall, and within two minutes the home sdie were trailing when Dave Follows hit the target.

Brendan Hackett put Swifts back on level terms in the last minute of the first half when his long-range toe-poke beat the visiting goalkeeper from just inside the Willenhall half.

A scrappy second-half saw a string of cautions but Dearlove settled the issue in Stourport's favour when he raced to the near-post and headed a Shaw free-kick into the top corner in the 57th minute.

On Saturday Swifts fell victim to an in-form Chasetown who notched their third successive win.

The visitors took the lead after just six minutes when Shaun Bradbury slipped through to score with a chip over goalkeeper Rob Clarke from 10 yards.

Liam Meenan came cose to an equaliser with a 30-yard chip after spotting the keeper off his line before half-time.

Simon Marsh also had opportunities either side of the break, but Chasetown clinched victory when Bradbury struck for his second seven minutes from the end.
