TOWN outclassed Sunday's Glouce-stershire League opponents as Matthew Smith and Ben Wright both grabbed hat-tricks.

The new look visitors went ahead through skipper Dave Roberts and it was 4-0 at the interval as Wright, Chris Houghton and Finton Green all found the back of the Cheltenham side's net.

Smith's treble came after the restart when Wright's brace completed an emphatic triumph.

Evesham Utd U-16 9, Brierley Hill 1

UNITED'S youngsters maintained their 100 per cent start in the Stourport League with a 9-1 hammering of Bri-erley Hill.

Jona Stride scored three times in the opening period and his hat-trick was matched by Danny Bostock. Further goals from Graeme Hay, Martin Watts and Matty Staley completed the rout before the visitors snatched a late consolation.

Evesham entertain highly rated Halas Hawks at Common Road on Sunday (2.30pm).

THIRTEEN proved unlucky for the visitors as United ran riot in their Mercian Boys League opener.

Gareth Walford scored five times, while Kevin Miles hit a hat-trick. The rout was completed by further strikes from Jack Bostock (2), David Coles (2) and Liam Burtenshaw.

Martley goalkeeper Richard Lewis was named player of the match despite the final scoreline as he produced a series of fine saves in a totally one-sided contest.

Badsey Rgrs U-11 4, Battledown 0

BADSEY made a successful transition from small-sided soccer to the 11-a-side game as they hit Battledown with a three-goal salvo just before half time.

The two sides were evenly matched in the opening 20 minutes with Badsey creating the better chances. And they finally made them pay as Pete Heyes scored twice and debutant Rune Dige also found the net in a five-minute spell.

Player of the match Adam Westmacott and Oliver Smith stood firm as Battledown poured forward after the break but Rangers got stronger and a second newcomer, Ben Holland, made the game safe with his side's fourth goal.

Tewkesbury U-12 2, Evesham Colts 1

LAST Wednesday's Cheltenham and Gloucester League clash saw Tewk-esbury take the points despite a late Evesham rally.

The home side had the better of the opening 15 minutes and took an early advantage.

Evesham missed a great chance to level before Tewkesbury doubled their lead after the break. Colts reduced the arrears but try as they might they couldn't fins an equaliser.

The Evesham lads hit back in style last Sunday when they defeated Cheltenham YMCA 5-3.

Will Gayton gave Colts a two-goal lead before the visitors struck. Matt Knight restored his side's two-goal cushion at the interval and further goals from Gayton - to complete his hat-trick - and Sean Fensome left Colts firmly in the driving seat.

However, they relaxed a little and allowed YMCA to inflict pressure in the closing stages that brought them two more goals.

Binbrook 0, Evesham Colts U-15 5

PLAYING their first fixture in the Central Warwickshire Youth League, Colts went nap as they stormed to an easy win.

The 600-strong team league is the fourth biggest of its kind in the country and it took the Evesham lads a little time to settle.

They had an early escape when the hosts hit the bar and it took the brotherly combination of Steve and Andrew Smith to break the deadlock with the latter finding the net.

Fowler smashed in a super second from 25 yards on the half-hour before the hosts started to hit back in the second half when they had lots of possession but failed to trouble Gledhill in the Evesham goal.

Mark Staley made it 3-0 to the visitors and Andrew Smith added a fourth before new boy Mark Lewis completed the scoring with a nonchalant fifth.

Life will get harder for the newcomers starting this weekend with the visit of Churchill (Redditch) in the cup, kick-off 2pm.

Bredon Colts U-12 1, Tewkesbury 3

BREDON lost to their local rivals in Sunday's Cheltenham League clash after an evenly contested contest.

The home side were unlucky not to turn round in front after seeing one effort cleared off the line and another disallowed for offside.

Tewkesbury rode their luck to take the interval honours after a headed opener and they then broke away to double their lead after the restart.

Robert Lowe's fine individual effort made it 2-1 and set up a thrilling finish but it was the visitors who again found the net, again on the break, to secure the points.

RSG 3, Badsey Rangers U-13 8

BADSEY travelled to newly formed RSG not knowing what to expect and they soon fell behind in their opening league outing when the hosts took the lead after only ten minutes.

Daniel Willmott quickly brought Rangers level and Daniel Ford then made it 2-1 before RSG grabbed their second.

It was then left to player of the match Sam Linley to take command and find the net six times during a one-sided second half with quality strikes.

Antonio Vernaschi was also in outstanding form in the centre of midfield - a vital area of Badsey control.

RSG hit back with a late consolation on a day when Linley's pace was the highlight of a goal-filled affair.

Droitwich 0, Norton Rangers U-14 3

NORTON kicked of a fresh season in front of new coach Colin Cooke and he must have been impressed with the manner of their victory.

An early own goal gave Norton an early boost and that proved to be the only goal of an evenly contested first half.

Droitwich swarmed forward after the restart and only stout defence kept them out.

Rangers hit back in the best possible style with a goal of their own from winger James Ash and the visitors capped a fine show with a classic strike from Scot Williams after yet more pressure from a disappointed Droitwich.

Norton Rgrs U-13 5, Malvern Wds 3

HOPING to go one better than last term Norton started with a win after they had surged into a 3-0 lead.

Matthew Williams, Ashley Knight and player of the match Luke Underwood all found the net in a dazzling opening but the tide turned after the award of a penalty to Malvern.

Goalkeeper Luke Arnold made it 3-1 before Scott Butler fired over Norton goalkeeper Alex Gretton to bring the sides within one goal.

The hosts had a 'goal' wiped out for offside and Tom Bailes hit a post from the penalty spot as half time approached.

The miss didn't prove costly as goals from Ashley Wilkes and Tristan Buckley gave Norton a winning advantage before Butler's late reply.

Pershore U-13 1, Peopleton 3

MERCIAN League newcomers Peop-leton earned a deserved victory over their local rivals despite going a goal behind against the run of play.

The equaliser came just before the break and the visitors then took the lead thanks to a fine solo strike and superb finish from Nat Bulmer.

Andy Lamb then made it 3-1 to secure the points and leave the winners in good heart ahead of their next match against visitors Evesham North End.
