THERE were mixed fortunes for the two Bretforton sides in the top division of the Stratford Alliance, while newcomers Campden Town made it two wins out of two in Herald Division One.

Bretforton Sports, a rehash of last season's champions Fleece, defeated Badsey United 2-0, thanks to goals from Williams and Deacon but the village's Old Boys lost out 4-1 at FISSC.

Hands and Danks both scored twice as Shipston easily dealt with the challenge of Bidford BC, while Studley made it maximum points from two league outings with a 3-1 win at Halfords.

Cook was Campden's hero in a tight tussle at Badsey Rangers but goals were in plentiful supply at Tysoe United, where Davies scored five times as Welford won 7-2.

Spartak Park also found the net seven times at Campden, with hat-tricks for Brooks and Linton, while Surman bagged a brace as Henley Forest Reserves won 5-1 at Alcester Lions.

The roar of the Railway Lions was louder after a second successive Cutler Division Two win as goals from Finlay and Somner helped account for Alcester 2000.

Haynes somewhat made up for Bidford's home struggles with the winner in the reverse fixture at Shipston.

All this weekend's scheduled matches have been cancelled due to the fuel crisis.
