IT was HDA who settled the earlier of the two sides but Fairfield came more into it and, on the half hour mark, went close on two occasions with efforts by Paul Newbon and Luke Thomas.
In the final ten minutes of the first half, Fairfield put HDA under pressure but were unable to find the breakthrough.
Fairfield played their best football of the game at the start of the second half, with Richard Hammond giving the HDA defence all sorts of problems down the right, but they failed to punish the visitors.
Although this was a well-earned point, Fairfield were unlucky not to take all three with another good all round team performance.
