THANK you for printing the report regarding speed signs at Station Road, Pershore.
I would like to respond to Geoff Cox, of Wychavon Highways Partnership Unit, who states "Government regulations prevented them from putting up repeat speed signs on roads with street lighting."
I would therefore like Mr Cox to explain to me why Station Road being 1.5 miles in length has a left hand turning at 1.2 miles along leading into an Industrial Estate, the beginning of which has a 30mph sign at the entrance. This indicates to me the road I have left (namely Station Road) has a different limit!
Furthermore, if you continue along the B4082 into Pinvin (Main Street) I counted a minimum of four reminder signs in the space of less than half a mile. This road also has street lighting! Very confusing isn't it?
The cynical among us would wonder why in Station Road (which has a hidden speed camera) there are no speed signs along its entire 1.5 mile length - but at the Pinvin End (Main Street - where there are no hidden cameras) there are speed limit signs at regular intervals dispersed within the space of less than half a mile (I counted four signs).
I would be interested in the explanation for such a large discrepancy!
