Following numerous requests from passenger-transport undertakings in London and the provinces, the firm of Dudley's, Arrow Road, Redditch, set out to devise a window screen wiper that would operate without attention for much longer periods than the ones now in service.

The aim was to produce a wiper that would last for the normal period between vehicle overhauls.

After months of research the idea has now been perfected.

Bench tests show that the new motor and gear box are capable of continuos operation for 1,500 hours.

It is claimed that this represents a three-fold improvement on the majority of previous designs.
