THE September meeting began on a sad note with the announcement of the death of Bill Greenaway.
Mr Greenaway became a member in the early 1970s and worked on the committee for most of the 1980s.
He supported many events, including the trip to the London Millennium Show in March. He also at one time hybridised and grew some of his own phaelenopsis.
The meeting was the AGM which was followed by the annual members plant sale and plants were auctioned off by president Peter White.
Next month will include a talk on growing orchids on the windowsill. Meetings take place on the first Saturday of the month at Arden School in Station Road, Knowle, starting at 2.30pm.
New members and visitors always welcome. Further information from 01564 822897.
