MUSIC, dancing and drama will be on offer in Barnt Green this weekend as the village holds a special event to mark the new century.

Barnt Green 2000 Millennium Festival takes place this Saturday and the centrepiece of the celebrations is the inauguration of the Millennium Arch.

It is the new entrance to the children's playground.

Hewell Road will be closed between 3pm and 6pm to allow traders to put out stalls and make demonstrations.

Attractions include Indian kebabs and samosas, Chinese dim sum, face painting, dingy sailing and a bouncy castle.

At 3.30pm there will be a music and dancing demonstration by St Andrew's First School and at 5pm there will be a barbecue, music and drama.
