Stratford Alliance Premier League

Halfords 1 Studley FC 3

STUDLEY continued their winning ways with a well-deserved victory against local rivals Halfords.

The game started well for the home side and chances went begging in the first 20 minutes, with only Carl Martin's shot against the base of the post on target.

Studley then started to get on top with new signing Cresswell causing the Halford defence all sorts of problems and following good work from Scott Walsh, Cresswell scored from close range. Five minutes later 'Syd' Latham made it two at the far post from a corner from Wood.

The second half saw a spirited fightback from Halfords in a more open game, both sides going close. Halfords' Tim Guy gave the home side hope when his cross shot was diverted in by Carl Martin.

Then from a superb build-up down the right flank, man of the match Ryan Field crossed for Studley's talented striker Jamie Paul to head home.

The game was a good advertisement for local football, played with skill, vision and commitment, and most importantly in good spirit - with no bookings.

l On Saturday, Halfords are at home to Bretforton, ko 2.30pm at Studley BKL and Studley FC are away against Shipston.
