AN £800 health survey into a Droitwich Spa mobile phone tower has been labelled a waste of money.
Wychavon district councillors decided to approve plans for three panel antennas and two microwave dishes on the Water Tower, in Newland Road, after the study revealed radioactive emissions were well within maximum safe levels.
Cllr Keith Rogers (Lab, Droit.West) said: "I still think the study was money wasted."
But Cllr Mike Barratt (Con, Droit.South) defended the inquiry.
He told the planning committee on Thursday: "I know someone didn't want us to spend £800 on the survey but I think we did the right thing because residents wanted the information."
