STEWARDS escaped from the second blaze this year at the Royal British Legion Club in Droitwich.
Married couple Sue and John Roberts fled after the fire started in the club's dance hall early on Saturday morning.
Police later arrested a man who was released on bail pending further inquiries.
Chairman of the Salwarpe Road club Alan Lymer said an insurance claim for a fire in July had only just been completed.
Leading firefighter Keith Harris, of Droitwich Fire Brigade, said: "The hall has a suspended ceiling and if that had caught fire it would have ripped across the whole building."
