A REDDITCH Tandoori restaurant has proved once again that it can compete on a national level when it comes to quality of food and service.
Last week, Akash Tandoori Restaurant, in Unicorn Hill, scooped one of seven prestigious national awards from the Good Curry Guide, the ninth time it has won.
Owner Akil Choudhury was overjoyed to receive a commemorative plate at an awards ceremony in London.
Mr Choudhury has been running his restaurant in Redditch for 21 years and his fine cuisine is renowned across town.
He said: "The judges came in anonymously so we didn't know they were there.
"They commended us on our food as well as the quality of the service.
"We're always putting new and unusual dishes on the menu such as Assami chicken or South Indian Joypury chicken and chicken Jonta.
Mr Choudhury added: "Every year me and my chef fly out to India to bring back new ideas and recipes for our customers to enjoy, so it's great to be rewarded for the effort. The staff are very pleased as well."
