Lichfield Ladies 34 Alcester Ladies 10
ALCESTER RFC Ladies, in their first match of the season, struggled to get going in the first half and were hit with five tries and two conversions in 20 minutes before getting into gear.
However, two tries before the end of the half from Liz Boyle and Alexis Carter following some good linking movement showed that Alcester were capable of troubling their stronger opposition.
The second half was much more even with Alcester winning more of the ball and gaining territorial advantage. They could not convert this into further points, however, and despite a much improved second half defensive performance, Lichfield were able to break through and score their sixth and final try of the match.
Next Sunday, September 17, Alcester Ladies play at home against Earlsdon, 2.30pm. Training takes place on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30pm. New players are welcome.
