SO a ban on smoking inside the Kingfisher Shopping Centre is proposed. About time too!
Three years ago, Redditch Council's Town Centre Forum, of which I was chairman, asked management to find out shoppers' views on imposing such a ban.
At the next meeting, they reported that, surprise, surprise, smokers didn't want a ban. Nobody had bothered to ask the views of the non-smokers.
Your report (Advertiser, August 30) contradicts what we were told.
The health of all who go into the Kingfisher Centre requires an immediate - not a ''phased-in'' - ban on smoking.
Kingfisher staff have told me they often find the atmosphere stifling and would welcome a ban on smoking - and proper air conditioning.
