MAY I clear up some confusion over responsibility for parking spaces and car clamping in the town (Letters, August 30)?
Redditch Council agrees fully with your correspondent that it is very disrespectful of able-bodied people to take up spaces for disabled drivers.
However, the responsibility to deal with this locally lies with a number of organisations.
It is the responsibility of the police and traffic wardens on public land and on non-public land, the responsibility of the landowner (for example, we would deal with incorrect use of the disabled parking in our town hall car park).
I have also passed on your correspondent's concerns to both the local Highways Partnership and Redditch police.
