BROMSGROVE Rovers continued their recent run of good form with a 1-0 win at Cinderford Town in the Dr Martens League Western Division.

At this stage of the season, games come thick and fast which has enabled Rovers to quickly erase the memory of their nightmare showing against Bedworth and a fortnight on they have progressed in the FA Cup and achieved a position in the top half of the table.

Striker Peter Sutton, who continues to form an effective partnership with the lively Richard Burgess, attributed Rovers' improved fortunes to the style of management used by new boss George Rooney.

"He's very strict whereas Steve Daley was more into the technical side, he's a sucker for the rules and we just try and do our best."

The only goal came when Marc Burrow headed home a Dean Joinson corner in the tenth minute, and set pieces are playing a key role in Rovers' recent performances according to Sutton.

"George is one for his set pieces with Marc Burrow being an obvious target. I just hope he doesn't score more than me!"

Rovers were never in much trouble with keeper Nore Gabbidon only having a couple of saves to make.

One came before the only goal when Ian Howse forced a save and in the second period he kept out an effort from Steve Caines.

It was always the visitors who looked likely to add to their goal tally and Sutton should've increased the lead but whenever he was provided with a chance, often from the hard working Burgess, home 'keeper Craig Chaplin was equal to the task.

Rovers gave a professional performance against a weak Cinderford side, ravaged by injury, but these are the sort of teams that need to be overcome and Rovers did just that to stretch their unbeaten run to four games.
