ANIMAL lovers were left distressed after finding a trail of dead birds along a stretch of road near Malvern.
Crows and pigeons, that appeared to have been shot, were found strewn along Madresfield Road in Madresfield.
Barbara Walk and her husband Paul, of Chestnut Drive, Malvern, were driving back to their home on Sunday, September 2 when they saw one dead bird.
"We thought there was nothing unusual in that, but a little farther down was another, then another, all in the road," said Mrs Walk.
"It was horrible. It really upset us.
"There were so many that it couldn't have been a coincidence."
Mrs Walk said she counted up to 15 birds.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds said it was legal to shoot pigeons and crows.
"It's probably been someone shooting them and they've dropped on the road," said spokesman Andy Waters.
