COLWALL 2nds secured runners-up spot with a comprehensive victory against Wootton Bassett 2nds on Saturday.

Colwall captain Russ Bennett won the toss and inserted Wootton Bassett. On an unpredictable wicket Eddie Hill proved unplayable and frustrated with impressive figures of 1 for 18 off 12 overs. Pete Cunningham, Stuart Bailey and Russ Bennett gave good support and at the close restricted the home side to 141-7.
In reply Colwall made a steady start with Kim and Jon Berry. Though Kim Berry (21) and Richard Egglington (19) departed. Jon Berry (51no) and Martin Oliver with a quick fire 41 steered the side to victory in 33overs.
Colwall can congratulate themselves on a successful season. Brain Goode performed outstandingly with both bat and ball, finishing top of the averages.
