OH how I wish that all the work carried out on the Bosbury Church and detached tower had cost a mere £10,000, as stated in your report of August 25!
Our contractor would be inundated with work - and out of business just as quickly!
In truth, we had budgeted to spend £34,000 on phase 1 of the project but, once it had started, further necessary work was identified, as is often the case, for the sum of £10,000 (£44,000 in total). It is the lesser additional cost to which your article refers.
Our parishioners and friends responded magnificently to our direct appeal, donating very nearly £4,000, including a most generous anonymous donation. In the meantime, the Bosbury Church Appeal remains open!
